In the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres discuss Ellen's upcoming judgeship at the singing competition, and address the gay banter between Simon and Ryan that has been criticized in the past:

DeGeneres: Simon, I guess this is as good a time as any to tell you – I’m gay.

Cowell: Are you serious? No one told me that. Let me tell you something: We are the least racist, homophobic show in the world. What we do have, thank God, is a sense of humor. I hate political correctness. I wouldn’t go into any show saying anything is off-limits. If we have to abide by a ton of rules, we might as well call it a day now.

EW: Is that cool with you, Ellen?

DeGeneres: Well, I don’t go by that rule, where there’s no political correctness at all. If we lived in a world where there was no such thing as racism or homophobia, then obviously there would be no off-limits. Unfortunately, there are people in this world that don’t like other people, and that was one of the issues that was brought up about Adam Lambert. So I’m sensitive to it just because I’ve experienced that kind of discrimination. At the same time, the stuff that Simon and Ryan do – none of that has ever been offensive to me. I’m more offended by people who make jokes about something sounding like an animal that’s been caught in a lawn mower or whatever. Because there are sick people out there that would go, “What’s that sound like?”

“Community” Star Donald Glover on Comedy, Critical Acclaim and “30 Rock” (Wall Street Journal)

The critically acclaimed but low-rated NBC comedy series “Community” returns tonight [OP note: There's actually a rerun of 1.08 on tonight. The next new one is Jan. 14th]. The series follows a group of middle-aged misfits and twenty-something slackers as they navigate the pitfalls of studying at a Denver community college not known for its academic rigor. The series quickly gained fans in comedy circles and is slowly picking up viewers who watch other Thursday night comedies on NBC like “The Office,” “Parks and Recreation,” and “30 Rock.”

Donald Glover, 26, plays Troy Barnes, a former prom king and high-school quarterback, who takes classes at Greendale Community College, opposite Joel McHale and Chevy Chase. Speakeasy spoke to Glover about the show.

The Wall Street Journal: “Community” debuted to a lot of critical acclaim, but the ratings weren’t so great. Do you think the series is picking up steam?

( I really do feel like it’s picking up, yeah. It got a lot of praise up top but I think it’s hard to get viewers, especially when you’re on at 8 p.m. 8 p.m. isn’t really where our audience is. But even more so, it’s the kind of show, like “30 Rock,” that a lot people watch on DVR and DVD. So, I’m not so focused or worried about that type of stuff [ratings] because it’s beyond my control. )

Sega has revealed that the Aliens vs. Predator Hunter Edition, announced originally for Europe earlier this month, will be hugging the US in the face as well. That's a good thing.

Aliens vs. Predator has only been in the news due to its battle with the Australian Classification Board but now that the ugliness is over (Sega won their appeal; the game will be released in the land down under), we can turn our attention to the game itself.

This one really does have a ton of potential, and if you're convinced of its impending quality, perhaps you'll spring for the special Hunter Edition.





Previously announced for European territories, it has now been revealed that this jam-packed bundle will also be coming to the US, which only proves that publishers aren't too concerned about pricey packages.

Here's a not-so-sunny forecast in the OC: Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Barney has been served divorce papers by husband Simon Barney. In papers posted at RadarOnline, Simon contends that his wife "has been verbally abusive and has committed acts of disloyalty and infidelity."

The couple have been married for 11 years and have three children, ages four, nine and ten; Tamra, 42, has an older son, Ryan, 23, from a previous marriage. Tamra's marriage troubles have been documented on the current season of Bravo's hit reality series. The strong-willed pair have butted heads in recent episodes over financial troubles, Tamra's desire to re-enter the workforce, her troubled son Ryan, and her friendship with fellow housewife Vicki Gunvalson.

RadarOnline reports that Tamra had moved out of their shared home earlier this week into an apartment -- but had been unaware that Simon was filing divorce papers.

In a BravoTV.com blog post Dec. 11, Simon defended his bad rep as a "controlling evil husband," as he puts it.

"I have been presented over and over as being controlling. Yes, it’s true! I admit it again. I am controlling! Controlling the damage and protecting my family. If you have seen my wife in the last few seasons, you know that if I was controlling I must suck at it."

He added: "Being on a reality show is not my priority in life. My wife and children's happiness and well being is."

On one hand I am happy for Tamra because Simon is controlling, but on the other hand, I can't stand Tamra so this makes me laugh a little. Who's excited for the episode tonight? A new one hasn't been on for weeks!

Lady GaGa made an appearance at the 2010 Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas earlier today to announce her partnership with Polaroid.

In an effort to push the awareness of Project Red and also help fund it, Monster and Beats by Dr. Dre have announced the New Special Red Beats Solo. All the money that Red makes off of these headphones will go to helping people suffering from Aids. Lady Gaga also announced that they are releasing a special Red Heartbeats headphones that will come with an acoustic version of Poker Face.

After falling for each other on the hit MTV reality series Jersey Shore, Ronnie Magro and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola tell PEOPLE that they’re still together — and it’s serious!

“I care about her deeply and I see it going for a long time,” Magro says. “I don’t really want to jinx anything [but] I love being with her. I have a best friend that’s my girlfriend, which is really hard to find.”

Seconds Giancola: “I’m very happy and content with my life right now. Things are just amazing and I’m just gonna go with it.”

Neither of them expected to leave the beach house in Seaside Heights, N.J., in a relationship — but to hear Magro tell it, the attraction was something they couldn’t deny.

“Her legs definitely caught my eye and then it just went from there,” he says with a laugh, adding that it didn’t bother him that he wasn’t able to hook up with local girls the way his single roommates did. “I have the best-looking girl and I’d rather [be with Sammi] than bring home a lot of disasters like Mike and Pauly!”

Giancola says that she doesn’t miss single life either. “Ronnie does a lot of romantic things for me all the time.” she says. “He’s brought me flowers to my house before, he takes me out to really, really nice restaurants, buys me dinner all the time. He’s just a great guy.”

And while four of their five costars have stayed single since the show wrapped, Jenni “J-WOWW” Farley, has reconciled with her boyfriend Tom, and he moved in four months ago.

“It’s great,” she tells PEOPLE of domestic life. “He became my best friend, so we do everything together. The house is messier, but in every other aspect, he makes everything easier.”

As for the night she and costar Pauly D hooked up on camera, Farley says it’s water under the bridge and that her boyfriend and Pauly D shook hands like gentlemen.

“[They're] cool out of respect,” she says. “[Any trouble] was, I guess, over with.”

Will Giancola and Magro follow suit and move in together? Says Giancola: “We’re just taking things one day at a time.”

Atlanta Journal Constitution, Maureen Allaben, the spunky set stylist for comedian Mo’Nique’s talk show was killed by her husband who stuffed her body in the trunk of his vehicle and drove around with it for 2 days.

After killing his wife, Dennis Allaben drove from the couple’s home in Tucker to Virginia and told his relatives there on Monday about the murder. Allaben dropped off the couple’s two children at the relatives home before returning to the Atlanta area. It isn’t clear if the children were aware their mother’s body was in the trunk.

The AJC reports that Allaben walked into the Clayton County Police Headquarters on Tuesday and turned himself in.

“He just showed up at [Clayton County] police headquarters and said he’d killed his wife,” Police Chief William O’Brien said.

Police recovered 43-year-old Maureen Allaben’s body, which had been wrapped up, from her husband’s blue Ford pickup. Dennis Allaben, 46, who tested underground storage tanks, is now in custody at the DeKalb jail and charged with murder.

'90210' exclusive: Who's the daddy? Ryan O'Neal!

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Ryan O’Neal is taking his well-honed dysfunctional daddy act over to 90210, where he’ll play the super-famous movie star father of Trevor Donovan’s Teddy.

O’Neal will appear in multiple episodes, the first of which will likely air in April.

90210 returns from its midseason hiatus on March 9.

They'll celebrate their tenth anniversary this year, and it seems Shakira and her fiancé Antonio de la Rua are just as in love as ever.

The couple were the picture of bliss as they strolled the beach in Punta Del Este, Uruguay, close to where the Columbian singer owns a ranch.

But despite their happiness together, the pair have no immediate plans to tie the knot.

Antonio, the son of former Argentine Prime Minister Fernando de la Rua, proposed in 2001. It was reported they would marry in 2007 at the property Shakira owns in the Dominican Republic, but the ceremony never happened.

The couple were then hit with contrasting reports they had split or had secretly wed. but Shakira put the record straight on Twitter last September.

"We are neither married nor fighting. We are very together and very good. 9 years!" she wrote.

Well, that was exciting wasn't it? On New Year's Day our first, brief glimpse of the Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith, in action. Look, he has legs! And arms! Hands! Fingers! But he's definitely not a girl. Oh, and he's about to crash the TARDIS....

Some time later, on Earth, DWM is spending an afternoon in 'The Vicarage', a spooky-looking, semi-derelict property in Rhymney, a small town in South-East Wales. It's 14 October 2009 (wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey, okay?) and the Doctor Who production team, three months into filming Matt's debut series, is tackling Episode 1 (albeit the fifth episode to be shot), written by the show's new head producer, Steven Moffat. Matt is still in the Tenth Doctor's brown pinstriped suit, sans jacket now. Karen Gillan, who plays his companion, Amy Pond, is wearing a police officer's uniform (interesting!), with a skirt so short that DWM doesn't know where to look.

In a few month's time, none of us is going to understand how we ever lived without the Eleventh Doctor and Amy in our lives. The chemistry between them is red-hot and jump-off-the-screen electric. It must help that Matt and Karen get on so well off camera. Yes, they finish each other's sentences, and often say the same thing at the same time, but above all, its the laughing- the constant cracking up-that reminds us that these two are having the time of their lives. All hail the new TARDIS team! That evening, DWM returns home head over heels in love with the both of them.

Here, then, in an exclusive interview to DWM, is Matt and Karen's first ever interview together, conducted on the hoof, in the kitchen of 'The Vicarage.' As you will see, 2010 is shaping up to be the year of Tim Burton-esque fairytales and broken TARDIS consoles...

Hello. I would like to make the 'Best Pumpkin Muffins' from Page 52 of Vegan With A Vengeance. The one problem is, I don't have the 1/2 cup of soymilk needed for the recipe. I have just about every other baking ingredient one could want.

The only type of milk at all I have on hand is a can of Thai Kitchen Lite Coconut Milk, but I worry that this might mess up the flavor. Would it?

I know this may be a long shot, but are there any substitutions for soymilk that won't mess up the recipe?
